Sakai COHO RUN 2020

October 26th, 2020

Sonoji Sakai Intermediate School

Thanks for joining Sakai's 2nd annual COHO RUN! In addition to collecting donations to support the specific needs of an unusual school year, we're encouraging students to find creative ways to stay active and healthy during a global pandemic. Just like the 200 miles that our school mascot Coho salmon will swim upstream to spawn, we're asking each student to commit to 200 minutes of active movement. Collectively, we're aiming for 6,000 minutes per classroom (like the 6,000 miles a salmon will swim in its lifetime). The Sakai PTO works to provide programs and services not fully covered by local and regional funding. The PTO is committed to working with the Sakai staff to help everyone stay connected and succeed in this challenging year. Many thanks for your support at any level!

Event Updates

This year's COHO RUN kicks off on Monday, October 12th. Parents, help your students get registered and then start fundraising! Track your minutes of activity, too, so you can report them as part of the Question of the Day each morning. Cash and check donations (made out to SAKAI PTO) are graciously accepted as well. You can either hand deliver or send via snail mail to the Sakai front office at NE 9343 Sportsmen Club Rd, Bainbridge Island, WA 98110.

Donation Rewards and Incentives

Prizes, rewards, and incentives, oh my! Every donation of $5 or more earns you a ticket in the weekly drawing for gift cards to local businesses. Reach $125 in donations and you earn 10 extra tickets in the drawing. Be a superstar fundraiser ($250) and earn even more tickets, as well as our eternal gratitude. Achieving our school-wide goal of $50,000 means that we can plan a special school-wide celebration! We're also excited to get all you Sakai salmon moving, so don't forget to log your minutes of activity every morning (as part of the Question of the Day). Reach 200 minutes, and you'll be recognized on our salmon walkway. When we reach our classroom goals of 6,000 minutes each, the salmon migration will lead us all to some special goody bags!
