Newfield's PFO is kicking off the first annual Newfield Knights Fun Run!
This is an in-school event for all students to participate in (regardless of funds raised), and a fun way to get our Newfield Knights MOVING!
We have a goal to raise $15,000 to get our PFO budget back up to where it needs to be - that's just $25/student!
What is the event? During the school day on Wednesday, October 9 (Grades K/1/2) and Thursday, October 10 (Grades 3/4/5), all students will participate in this fun event created by our Physical Education faculty. Students can run, jog, walk, skip, or jump their way through the course set up on the field behind the school - having fun is the main goal, as students see how many laps they can complete during the allotted time.
The Fun Run is for students only; we are not inviting parents to participate at this time but will explore ways to accommodate this in the future.
What are we raising funds for? NEWFIELD! We are raising funds to further our support of the amazing Newfield faculty and students. Did you know the Newfield PFO ideally operates on an annual budget of $35,000? All funds raised will go towards:
- field trip transportation costs
- subsidizing the cost of educational programs, such as Nature's Classroom, Critter Caravan, Mad Science, and Mythology workshops
- classroom supplies
- PFO community events
- plus much, much more!
We have partnered with Get Movin' and are utilizing their Fund Hub platform to accept donations for this event.

Donation Rewards and Incentives
*INDIVIDUAL PRIZES*
- Each student that registers will be entered into a drawing for a prize bag! Starting on Monday, 9/30 and for the next 6 school days, there will be a daily raffle drawing for prize bags and 1 student from each grade level will WIN each day!
- Top earner in each grade will get free admission (including 5 raffle tickets) to the Halloween Bash on Friday, October 25!
- Top earners in each grade were Isabella C from Team Bendana (K), Alyssa W from Team Scorza (1), Milo C from Team Scanlon (2), Rory H from Team Smith (3), Jordan B from Team Lipscomb (4) tied with Brooke B from Team Swift (4), and Charlotte F from Team Perreault (5). Have so much fun at the Bash!!
- Top 3 earners school-wide will have a choice from the following (top earner has first choice, followed by 2nd and 3rd earners):
- Lunch with Mrs. Longo
- Lunch with Mr. Bilik
- Assistant PE teacher for the day!
- Top 3 earners school-wide were Alyssa W from Team Scorza, Reese C from Team Scorza, and Milo C from Team Scanlon! Way to go!
*SCHOOL-WIDE CELEBRATIONS*
- Reach $5,000 – Crazy Hair/Hat Day (EARNED!! Crazy Hair/Hat Day was Friday, 9/27)
- Reach $7,500 – Pajama Day (EARNED!! Pajama Day was Wednesday, 10/2)
- Reach $10,000 – NO HOMEWORK night (EARNED!! No homework day was Monday, 9/30)
- Reach $12,500 - pop-up dance party! (EARNED!! The pop-up dance party was on Wednesday, 10/2 in PJs!!!)
- Reach $15,000 – Newfield spirit day and pep rally! (EARNED!! Students were full of spirit and pep the days of the Fun Run!)
At the end of the fundraiser:
- Top earning grade earns extra recess with popsicles!
- Grade 1 was the top earning grade, raising $6,969!
- Top earning class earns a pizza party!
- Team Scorza was the top earning class, raising $3,919!
