Laketown Elementary School
Our annual Laketown Elementary Move ‘N Groove fundraiser kicks-off on Friday, September 5th and culminate’s on Friday, September 19th with our Move N' Groove-a-Thon event day.
Students will be movin’ and groovin’ to raise money for student enrichment programs (ie. Outdoor Explore, PRIDE Spirit Day and PBIS), teacher grants, field trip scholarships, indoor/outdoor recess equipment, and more to ensure every student has a meaningful elementary experience at Laketown.
The PTO also uses the funds raised to host free and inexpensive social activities like Family Movie Night, Family Night Trivia and our Back-to-School Ice Cream Social, along with other events to help keep students and families connected.

Dojo Karate has been helping to mold future leaders in our local communities since 2000. Dojo teaches character development but also confidence, perseverance, self discipline, respect and self defense, but is a family fun activity that promotes fitness.
Laketown Gymnastics is a non-profit gym that offers gymnastics, parkour, and ninja classes year-round. We have different classes for ages 18 months - 18 years old and offer a recreational program as well as a competitive gymnastics program. Hi! My name is Nikki Nielsen and I am a Mom of four with two students at LakeTown, Maddex (4th grade) Silas (kindergarten) I love teaching group fitness classes at Life Time in Chanhassen. Participating in all of the fun stations with the LakeTown students during the Move and Groove event has been a highlight for our family over the years, looking forward to our 2023 dance party, see you there!
The Safari Island Experience

August, John, Ruben, and Cathy… four generations of authentic artisans of handcrafted sausages and smoked meats. From a modest beginning, great grandfather August struggled without electricity, using an ice-filled meat case, to provide the community with traditional homeland meats. Decades later, with the help of modern technology and years of hard work, Cathy now sells her products worldwide and to some famous customers, such as making jerky deliveries to Aerosmith at Minneapolis concerts. Many of August’s original recipes are still being used today as well as new recipes being developed in our spice room. Tradition is our continued passion, while adopting current philosophies of local sustainability and natural products brings us into the future.
