Atwater Elementary
The PTO is excited to bring the Fun Run back to Atwater! This year's event-Run With Heart-is just around the corner.
The Atwater Fun Run is our largest PTO fundraiser of the year, supporting community-building, staff appreciation, and curriculum enrichment that directly benefit every Atwater student. The Fun Run is more than a fundraiser—it’s a celebration of our school community. The success of this effort has a meaningful impact on what the PTO can support throughout the school year.
How it works: Students collect donations over a 3 week period while earning incentives for their classrooms along the way. At the end of the three weeks, all students participate in the Fun Run at school on Friday, February 13th, to celebrate their efforts!
Last year's Fun Run funded an action packed school year:
Curriculum Enrichment:
- Funded $10,000 in grants for Atwater teachers and staff
- $4000 for music enrichment
- Purchased $3000 in books for classrooms at the book fair
- Supported Art Club
- Purchased Battle of the Books books
- Bought whiteboards for 3rd grade classrooms
- Updated new microphones and sound equipment for Music Dept.
- Provided field trip bussing for all grades for 1 field trip per year
Staff Appreciation:
- Hosted a Welcome Back catered luncheon for Teachers and Staff
- Provided dinner for teachers during conference in both Fall and Spring
- Sponsored the winter Hot Cocoa bar for all Teachers and Staff
- Provided start-up classroom funds to help our new teachers get set up for success
- Hosted Teacher Appreciation Week with coffee cart from Roast
Community Building:
- Coffee at first day of school for parents and caregivers
- Donuts for band for walk to school day
- Provided funds for Atwater's Got Talent
- Purchased equipment (Gaga ball pit and bounce house) to use at PTO-sponsored events, saving on rental costs
- Brought Wheelchair Basketball to Atwater
- Provided allergy-friendly and nutritious snacks for our K4 & K5 students – all year long!
- Provided funds for events like Monster Mash, Field Day, and June Fair
