Thurgood Marshall Elementary School
We are excited to launch the Marshall Elementary PTO Read-a-Thon—a schoolwide celebration of reading, learning, and our Eagle community!
Our goal is simple: encourage every student to read, build strong reading habits, and have fun with books. Whether your child loves chapter books, graphic novels, picture books, magazines, audiobooks, or reading with a family member, every reading experience counts.
While reading is our primary goal, the Read-a-Thon also helps us provide meaningful resources and experiences for our students. 20% of every dollar raised goes directly back to the student's classroom. Students will also have opportunities to earn additional bonus dollars for their classroom when they reach certain fundraising milestones, allowing their efforts to have an even greater impact on their classmates and teachers.
The remaining funds raised will help the PTO provide and support school and community activities throughout the year, including special events such as 5th Grade Graduation, Authors Day, the Talent Show, and other classroom and student experiences.
We hope you'll encourage your child to participate, discover a great book, and celebrate their progress. Every student can make a difference—by reading, by participating, and by helping their classroom and school community.
