Lucy V. Barnsley Elementary School is excited to kick off another fun, and educational Read-A-Thon fundraiser that students will love and parents will appreciate! 🎉📖

Last year, the funds were used for the following:

An engaging African Drumming Assembly
Inflatables for teachers and staff to wear during our fun day
Pies, silly string, and materials for fun day
Staff appreciation breakfast
FY27 LVBES Staff polo shirts
Funds to reduce the cost of the 5th grade field trip
Instructional materials for teachers
Materials for our Reading & Math night

We appreciate our amazing community's support and know that together, we can make this Read-A-Thon easy, exciting, and successful for everyone! 🚀💙

Donation Rewards and Incentives

Incentives:

For students who register - extra recess for 2 classes with highest % of kids registered (PK-2 & 3-5) by Monday, October 12, 2026.

End of Week 1 - Carnival Recess for class that has read the most minutes & the class that has raised the most money (PK-2 & 3-5)

End of Week 1 (PK-2) & (3-5) - individual student who raised most & read most at the end of Week 1 will get to be Media Specialist/Assistant for the day

End of Read-a-Thon (PK-2) & (3-5) - individual student who raised most & read most will get to be Principal/VP for the day.
